As a community we are saddened by the death of Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pope, whose leadership and living out of the teachings and charism of St Ignatius were a source of strength and inspiration to all.

The Jesuits in Britain posted the following statement: https://www.jesuit.org.uk/news/pope-francis-has-returned-to-the-lord-a-statement-from-the-jesuits-in-britain

World CLC (CVX – CLC) posted the following message:

Pope Francis, shepherd of hope, humility and encounter, has departed.

His life was a testimony of love for those who suffer most, and his voice a beacon of conscience in times of change.

Thank you, Francis, for showing us that another Church – and another world – is possible.

We invite all to pray for the repose of his soul:

Gracious God, may our hearts be transformed by Pope Francis’s example. Inspire us to carry forward his vision of a more just and compassionate world. As we reflect on the profound impact of his life and teachings, remind us of our sacred call to be instruments of change and reconciliation in our communities and in our world. Amen.
