The National Team meets five times a year, some in person at Manresa House in Birmingham (all travel and accommodation expenses covered) and others online via Zoom . One meeting also includes the Extended National Team who usually meet online.
If you would like to take on one of the roles listed below (or put yourself forward for the role of National President), for all bar the Eurolink and the NCLA rep, you must be nominated for the role and then the AGM (at the National Assembly) will vote on the nominations. The Eurolink position is simply appointed by the National Team. Each National Team appointment is for a four year term.
- South West Regional Representative (National Team member)
This role became vacant following the National Assembly 2022 when the then Regional Rep completed a four year term. If you want to discuss the role of a regional representative, please contact one of our existing reps.
- Treasurer (National Team member)
Our current Treasurer is completing her second four year term of office and hence there is the opportunity for someone else to be nominated for the role. If you want to know more, please contact our current Treasurer.
- Eurolink (Extended National Team member)
The Eurolink represents our national community at European CLC meetings like the forthcoming one in Malta. Our current Eurolink has completed a four year term and has been nominated for a role within the World CLC Executive (ExCo). This appointment becomes vacant at the National Assembly. Talk to Michelle Ellison if you want to know more.

- National Council for Lay Associations (Extended National Team member)
This role represents CLC’s commitment to maintaining links with the wider Church. NCLA has been in existence for over 50 years and is a Consultative Body to the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. With the National Board of Catholic Women, it is is the voice of lay associations to the bishops. The NCLA representative attends two NCLA meeting a year, held in Crewe. For some years now our previous NCLA rep, Debbie Cottam, has been serving as NCLA Hon Secretary so it would be good to have another CLC member there with her. Debbie would be happy to talk to you about the role – you can email her.
03.07.23: This position has now been filled. 🎉🎉🎉.
Please do consider whether the Lord is inviting you to volunteer for one of these roles, to enable CLC in England and Wales to grow and flourish. Note that the Regional Representative, Treasurer and President are Trustee roles, ie they will be registered as Trustees on the Charity Commission Register. Appropriate training will be given for all these roles and all expenses will be covered. If you don’t personally feel called, please consider suggesting one of these roles to someone else.
