It was a delight, at the end of the Exercises in Two Stages, to realise that CLC was important to all three directors and two of the retreatants.

On the left of the photo is Monika Miranda, a member of CLC in Vienna, who made the first half of the Exercises, and on the very right is Mark Tombley from CLC in the USA who made the second half. Mark lived in London for a while and was a member of the Zacchaeus CLC. In the centre, from left to right, are the directors: Alan Harrison sj, our National Chaplain, Geoff te Braak sj, who was in CLC in London before he joined the Jesuits and who accompanied a CLC at the university in Manchester when he was part of the chaplaincy team, and Jenny Bond, a member of Swinton CLC. Listen to Geoff speaking about his vocation journey here.

St Beuno’s recognises that not everyone wants to make the full Spiritual Exercises in daily life (’19th annotation’ retreat, lasting around a year) and not everyone is able to take the time to make the full 30 day Exercises in a retreat house. An alternative is to make the full Exercises in Stages, either in two stages (each taking just over two weeks) or in three stages. You can explore the possibilities on their website.
